Welcome to Faith in Labour, a website operated by Good Faith Partnership. At Faith in Labour, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Notice outlines the types of information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.
Unless we are using your personal data on behalf of an organisation who has purchased a service from us, we will be the data controller.
1. Personal data we collect
a. Personal Information
When you visit the Faith in Labour website, meet or communicate with a Faith in Labour representative complete a survey or a ‘Stay in Touch’ webform (or any other Faith in Labour online or physical form), we may collect personal information that you provide including any further voluntarily information you provide, such as:
- Your name and email address,
- Telephone number,
- Town or city you live,
- The organisation you may represent or work for,
- Your place of work and your job title, and
- Your political opinion (by nature of you interacting with us).
We will only ask or collect personal information relevant to the reason for our interactions with you.
We may also ask you which faith you practice, although we will gather your consent to record this information. Further information that may help our work may include other ‘special category’ personal data such as:
- Personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation
Where we do so we will either ask for your consent or inform you of the lawful basis for collection and use of this information when we do so.
b. Usage Data
We use Google Analytics to collect information about your interactions with our website. This includes details about your browsing behaviour, such as the pages you visit, the time spent on each page, and other analytics data.
2. Where we get your personal data
We collect information either directly or indirectly from you when we:
- First meet you (direct),
- You complete a webform we control, e.g. ‘Contact us’; ‘Stay in Touch’ (direct),
- You have emailed us or made an inquiry (direct),
- Replied to us over social media (indirect)
- A mutual party has given us your information and you are expecting us to make contact with you (indirect), and
- Work with a partner organisation who have already provided you with access to a compliant privacy notice (indirect).
3. How we use your personal data
We use the personal data we collect for the following purposes:
- To work with you based on the objectives of Faith in Labour (which can be found on our website),
- To invite you to participate in discussions and events related to harnessing the power of faith for the Labour Party and the country,
- To monitor our presence, reach and effectiveness on social media and/or marketing campaigns,
- To respond to your inquiries and/or provide the services you request,
- To analyse and improve the content and functionality of our website, and
- To monitor and analyse usage patterns through Google Analytics.
4. The Lawful basis for use of your personal data
Where you have made an inquiry into working with us, for example, you have sent us an email, you’ve completed a ‘contact us’ form or other forms on our website or social media pages, or we have met you at an exhibition or conference our legal basis will be within our legitimate interests to follow up with you.
If you have applied to participate in a service or course we are delivering, the basis with which we use your personal data will be contractual.
Should there be an injury or someone in need of any medical attention we will process the personal data within the vital interest of the individual.
For our organisational development, such as how to better engage with you or where we can better organise ourselves and how we conduct ourselves, we will process your personal data based on our legitimate interest as an organisation. It is also within our legitimate interests to maintain security practices in our physical and digital networks.
For marketing purposes we will only use your personal information where you have provided your explicit consent for us to do so. You may opt-out at any time and we will make it as easy for you to remove your consent as it was to give your consent. We also use consent as the lawful basis for the use of Cookies on our website.
Any use of special category personal data will either be based on consent we have gathered from you or we have stated another lawful bases at the time of collecting this information from you. This will always be compatible with Article 9 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation.

We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience on our website. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.
6. Third-Party Disclosures
We will never sell any personal data we hold. We will only share your personal data where it is within your expectations for us to do so. We work in very close partnership with the Good Faith Partnership because they are the organisation that runs and maintains Faith in Labour.
We do not automatically share your personal data with the Labour Party unless we have informed you at the point we captured your personal data from you. Where we are working on a joint project with the Labour Party, we may share a first name and email address with them so they can send you an email about the joint project or initiative. The Labour Party will not continue to hold a copy of your personal data unless you interact with the project or initiative being promoted and Faith in Labour will continue to be the data controller for the personal data.
Your personal data may also be stored with specific third-party services for the minimum period necessary to perform activities with your personal information. Each third-party is subject to contractual and security reviews to ensure adequate and comparative levels of security, we’d expect for ourselves, is provided for the data they process on our behalf.
The types of third-party providers we use include:
- Mass email services
- Communications providers
- Survey platform services
- Client Relationship Management services
- Website services and platform providers
- IT and Data Protection services organisations
- If applicable, law enforcement or religious/faith based agencies
Where appropriate, we may share your personal information with our professional advisers including our lawyers and auditors, project partners, industry experts, peers (of a group you are involved in as a Sector Stakeholder), and local and central government departments where it is strictly necessary. It is also possible that we may be required to share your data to comply with applicable laws or with valid legal processes, such as in response to a court order.
Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UK, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded by implementing at least one of the following safeguards:
- Transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the UK (the UK also recognises the European Commission list of adequate countries. - Specific contracts/agreements approved by the UK which give personal data the same protection it has in the UK. For further details, see UK International Data Transfer Agreements. We will also assess in-country standards as part of this process.
7. How long we keep your data
We will only keep your data for as long as is necessary for the purpose we collected it. Where you indicate to us you no longer wish to hear from us, also known as ‘unsubscribe’, we will remove your data from our systems.
We review the personal data we hold on an annual basis. Within that annual review, where you have not interacted with us for a period of at least three years we will remove you from our systems.
8. Data Security
We implement security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
9. Your Rights
You have the following rights in respect of your personal data:
- Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
- Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
- Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Your right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances including where we are processing your data based on consent.
- Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

10. How to Complain
We kindly request you allow us the opportunity to address your complaints when they arise. If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, you can make a complaint to us by contacting info@faithinlabour.co.uk
